The festival is a weekend opportunity for regional dancers to train and perform their bellydance skills. These dancers travel from all across our area to attend this event, which is the largest festival in the region. On Saturday evening, they will showcase the many various cultural styles, music, and costumes of bellydance. This family-friendly showcase is a one-night-only opportunity to enter the world of belly dance with professional headliners as well as the bellydance community of Montana and the outlying regions.
The Saturday night gala showcase will feature two amazing professional bellydancers, April Rose and Michelle Joyce. April Rose belongs to the "Bellydance Superstars," a critically acclaimed belly dance showcase that tours the world. Her knowledge and exquisite execution of Indian and Tribal fusion bellydance has made her a leading instructor and her performances are demanded all across the United States. To contrast April Rose's earthy style, Michelle Joyce will be showcasing the newer but extremely popular American Cabaret bellydance. Michelle leads the way for American Cabaret dancers, is featured in over 8 DVD's on the subject, and spearheads many other projects featuring her acclaimed students. And finally, joining them on stage will be the many diverse women of the regional bellydance community. Together they will illuminate the cultural significance and artistic beauty of this ancient dance.
